It's been a busy few weeks here at Devsa. We've been developing a number of new features, improving security, working closely with testers to fine tune the site and generally making great progress towards a public release. We'll give you a quick update on what we've been upto and what you can expect over the next few days.

Increased Security & Anti-Fraud Systems

Security was at the top of our list of priorities and we are happy to report that the site is now fully secured via SSL. The 256bit security is more than adequate for keeping your data safe and secure. You'll notice the padlock icon at the bottom of your browser as well as information in the address bar indicated that the site is secure.

Whilst on the subject of safety and security, we've also made some big improvements to the domain ownership verification procedure. We wanted to implement a system to ensure that all domain names being added (listed for sale) belong to the rightful owner and we wanted to offer a number of solutions for users to make this process as easy as possible. And once again, we're quite pleased with the results - and we're sure you will be too.

The domain ownership verification process will help in fighting fraud which exists at other online domain marketplaces. Only domain names which have been verified will appear on the public site. Users must be able to verify ownership of the names they add. Verification can be done via updating the whois contact (adding a unique code to any field), via file upload (for hosted sites) or using our innovative email verification.

We've made the verification process simple as possible so you spend less time verifying and more time adding/promoting domain names. Take a look on the "add a domain name" page and you'll find a video guide and with instructions on how to verify domain names.

Accepting more domain extensions

During beta phase one we had been limiting the range of domain extensions allowed. We did this in order to maintain stability and it also allowed us to concentrate on improving the amount of statistics we can pull for the top extensions. However, we've managed to add a few more extensions - and hope to add even more over the coming months. We are currently accepting the following extensions: .com - .net - .org - .info - .co.uk - .de - .in - .co.in - .de - .us - .me
