Company Overview
Devsa Ltd is a London, UK based company which provides an online domain marketplace and social network. Devsa.com allows individuals, corporations, businesses, agencies and non-profits to easily buy & sell domain names, showcase and promote their domain names using our free online domain portfolio tool as well as providing our members a blogging platform. The Devsa website is simple enough even for the least tech-savvy individuals yet powerful and flexible enough to meet the needs of advanced and experienced users.
Our Story
Devsa was created out of the founders own need for a safe and easy way to trade, promote and write about domain names. After several years in the domain industry, Devsa founder Shayfur Rahman decided to build a site showcasing all his domain names with the hope of attracting buyers as well as sellers.
Shay quickly discovered that there was no easy way to create a domain portfolio without having to list domain names at one of the few major marketplaces. Even then users were limited by the lack of features or unfriendly user interfaces, bound by exclusivity terms & conditions, high sales commissions and generally without getting much exposure to your entire domain portfolio.
After following regular industry bloggers, forum discussions and news releases, Shay realised that an opportunity existed to help individuals and organisations promote their domain names by creating a user-friendly social trading platform. A platform where you wouldn't need to have a web development background or be tech-savvy in order to build and promote your entire domain portfolio. A platform which automatically gathers and presents vital statistics about a domain name without the need to visit several other sites. Most importantly, a platform which saves you time both as a buyer or seller.
The project started in late 2007 and has taken over two years to get it to where it is today. The development of the site has probably taken no more than a few months but the development of the ideas, brainstorming, designing the user interface, testing, re-designing and generally ensuring that we've not missed anything - this has taken the most amount of time. It hasn't been easy, far from it, but it has been a great experience and we're glad to have managed to bring it to life.
What Problem does the Devsa platform solve? 
It's easy to quickly accumulate a large number of domain names and even easier to lose track or neglect some names whilst you concentrate on promoting others. Why is promoting and listing domain names for sale so frustrating? Because, you spend time listing your assets at the usual marketplaces but never get any real satisfaction that your names are getting the exposure they deserve.
Even liquidating your names can become frustrating and time consuming as you go around listing them on forums or at other sales outlets. You have to visit several of your domain registrar accounts to decide which names to sell, go to a site to list the names for sale, manually find out expiry dates, visit even more sites in the hope of uncovering statistics such as search volumes or back-links which may help to sell the names. You do this over and over again for each and every single name you wish to sell. This is where Devsa comes in.
Devsa makes it not only easy to list, promote and sell domain names but also to negotiate and buy domain names quickly, easily and safely.
Adding domain names individually or in bulk is a breeze. All you do is choose which categories your names belong to, set some prices and whether you want to sell at a fixed price or allow negotiations. That's it! Devsa eliminates the need for you to visit numerous sources for registration data or search statistics by retrieving it automatically. Once this is all done, a simple yet powerful sales page is created for each of your names.
Members get a profile page and domain portfolio page from where visitors can browse all their names. Devsa also adds powerful cross-promotional features to sales pages, portfolios and even blog posts which give even more exposure to domain names listed in their portfolio.
Shayfur Rahman, Founder & CEO
Shayfur, better known to his friends and colleagues as "Shay", has been around the domaining industry since late 2005. He has a background in graphics design, photography and is very passionate about web development.
